Here is a sample itinerary that could be perfect for your next family holiday:
You arrive mid-morning in Maun and take a short transfer to your lodge for the first night of your family adventure holiday. The rest of the day is free to relax and settle in. Maun, which means "place of short reeds", is the gateway to the northern parks of Botswana. Take a stroll around the town, along the riverside or relax in the pool as you recover from your journey.

After an early start, we head north out of Maun, to the Moremi Game Reserve, in our open 4WD vehicle. This unique area is named after the Chief of the Batawana tribe, who founded the reserve in 1963, making it one of the first reserves in Africa proclaimed by the local community. The reserve protects a large part of the greater Okavango Delta. The grasslands, floodplains, forests and winding water channels combine to form a variety of game viewing habitats attracting amongst others; elephant, lion, hippo, leopard and wild dog. We explore the reserve on morning and afternoon game drives, relax during the heat of the day and spend two nights wild camping in the reserve.
On day 3 of your adventure holiday of a lifetime, we’ll take you and your family on a motor launch out onto the waterways of the Okavango Delta. This excursion is a fantastic opportunity to see the amazing birdlife of the Delta and an absolute favourite with the children!

KIDS DID YOU KNOW - Moremi means "Courageous"
The dry Savuti channel runs from the west into the sandy Mababe depression, but it seldom flows, so the seasonal rains and waterholes in the park ensure a perennial source of life for the game in the area. Wildlife gathers on the open plains of the Savuti marsh and the surrounding dry camel thorn trees make this place a wildlife photographer’s dream. Famous for its big game and particularly its predators – the lions and the hyenas of Savuti fight a constant battle for survival. We spend two nights camping in this area, near a waterhole which is a constant source of activity.

Chobe National Park offers an exceptional wildlife experience that’s sure to be a highlight of your adventure holiday with your family. The meandering river feeds the flood plains, which provides essential grazing to the herbivores throughout the year. And although it boasts some of the largest concentration of plains game, Chobe is most famous for massive herds of elephants. One is more than likely to spot them during the dry season, in the late afternoon, when herd after herd of elephants emerge from the Mopane woodland to quench their thirst.
Our experience in Chobe is rounded off with a spectacular afternoon cruise on the river. This is one of the best ways to view the elephants and to get closer to the hippos and crocodiles - an experience of a lifetime. Evening meals can be enjoyed in the local restaurant.

KIDS DID YOU KNOW - The name hippopotamus means "river horse"and is often shortened to hippo!
As the next unforgettable day of your family holiday dawns, we’ll head out of Botswana and travel into Zambia crossing the Zambezi on the Kasungula Ferry. Once across the river, you’ll drive to the world-famous Victoria Falls.
This afternoon you’ll head off to see one of the most awesome sights in the world, ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’- the Smoke That Thunders (the name given to the falls by the Makololo people). The waterfalls are without doubt one of the greatest and most unforgettably scenic spectacles in Africa. It’s hot and humid here, and walking through the rainforest that thrives in the spray from the falls, you can feel the immense power generated by the Zambezi River. It plummets over a width of nearly two kilometres into a deep gorge over a hundred metres below, causing the ground to vibrate under your feet. The wide basalt cliff over which the falls thunder, transforms the Zambezi from a wide placid river to a ferocious torrent, cutting through a series of dramatic gorges.
There are several family-friendly adventure activities for you to choose from, such as river cruises, helicopter flights, rhino walks.

As a family choose between either a camping safari or a cabin-based safari tour:
Our designated campsites are located in national parks and town's. The more formal camp sites have good facilities with hot and cold showers, laundry facilities and telephones, where the nights we spend "wild camping"there are no facilities and the Sunway crew will erect a bucket shower, with warm water from the fire, and a pit toilet tent.
Wild camping is a true wilderness experience and we keep our impact on the environment to a minimum, taking out everything we take in.
Our cabin-based accommodation tours we overnight in guest houses, chalets, lodges or permanent tented camps. The accommodation we use is graded 2 to 3 star and is comfortable, clean and friendly and is booked on a twin share basis. The majority of rooms have en-suite bathrooms and very occasionally they will have shared ablutions. All linen and bedding is provided. Details of accommodation for each night are available on each detailed itinerary.
We have just completed a family trip in Botswana and Zimbabwe with Kenny Jacob and Joseph Mosheti as our guide and cook and wanted to write to you to let you know how fantastic they were for the two week trip.
Our children are 9, 12 and 14 and I can't speak highly enough of how wonderful they were with the kids. More than that their sense of fun, passion and knowledge added huge amounts to a very special holiday. I would certainly recommend that you make sure this team is always assigned to groups with kids (which I wrote on your feedback from too). Kenny is a superlative guide, whose love of the animals and his country is clearly evident. More than that, his sense of fun ensured that the whole group had a phenomanal time. Quite simply, he was the perfect host.
I know you are a large company and therefore it may not be often that you are that informed about the great work of your staff, so I wanted to make sure you are aware of these guys and what a compliment they were to your company. Many thanks Steve Ackerman (July 2013)
